Sirius Hydrofeed Solution Concentrate

R315.00

The Sirius Hydrofeed Solution Concentrates offers the perfect aid for nutrition to your hydroponic system. It is a general “middle of the road” kit that covers most crops. Start experimenting using the kit as instructed and then you can experiment with moving your “TDS” (Total Dissolved Solids) up or down for your specific crop mix.

Description

The resulting “Mother Liquid”, that is the diluted mix, will be clear, no sediment and will not clog your filters of your hydroponic system.
1. The “KIT” consists of 4 solutions. All 4 solutions must be used whenever a hydroponic system is set up. Leaving out any of the 4 solutions will result in a system failure.
2. Use water which is tested to be low in dissolved solids. If your municipal, dam or rainwater tank reads higher than 200 ppm, dilute with distilled or RO water until below 200 ppm
3. Start by filling the reservoir to almost full, then add Solution I, Solution II, Solution III and finally the pH-UP solution. Follow the dilution table for each solution. If your system is set up with young plants, use only 80 – 90% of the recommended volumes for dilution.
4. Top-ups: Once set up, your system will only need to be topped up with water which is lost as a result of transpiration. Check the TDS once you have topped up with water. Ideally it should be 750 – 900 ppm. If it drops below 750 ppm, add water to volume and add concentrates to more or less the volume of water added, plus 10 %. Always add all of the concentrates again.
5. pH: if you have equipped yourself with a pH meter, check the pH from time to time. Ideally it should be 5,3 – 6,0

a. Over 6: add a drop of diluted sulphuric acid
b. Below 5,3: add a drop or 2 of Hydrofeed pH-UP solution
6. Adding foreign substances or salts: Refrain from adding any sodium salt or urea or ammonia containing nutrients. This will result in system failure.
7. Have fun!
